Friends,
With gratitude for my tenure at First Christian Church Greensboro I share that I will be stepping into my next call as the Executive Director and Minister of the Disciples LGBTQ+ Alliance. In this role I will be leading our denomination-wide ministry that seeks to set a place at the table for all, work you know I am deeply invested in already.
Setting a place at the table for all has always been a part of my call. I am intentional about affirming every single body and during my time at FCC Greensboro you have affirmed me, my children, my family, and my work with Salvage Garden. My ordination in the fall of 2017 will hold a lasting impact on all I do. The dedication of our youngest child will forever be a blessing.
Leah and I and our entire family have been enriched through my work with FCC and our participation in the life of the congregation. We do not have to relocate; for now we are staying in Greensboro as I work from home and travel North America and Canada to serve our churches.
It has been a joy to journey with you. Thank you for gathering with me at the communion table and at Table Talk. Thank you for learning with me and teaching me much about what it means to be church.
I look forward to walking with you in the October CROP Walk and wrapping up and passing on projects. I will preach on Sunday, October 20, and my last day as your Director of Congregational Life will be that following week. I will work with the Board and Personnel Team to navigate this transition.
FCC Greensboro, thank you for being the church. Thank you for the opportunity to serve with you for just over seven years. May we all continue to love, serve, and hope.
