I’m a little late with this one; I didn’t have internet access at the conference center.  Here are some of the things Bill McConnell talked about today. I’m listing them here in bullet form, but really all of them need to be explained and fleshed out quite a bit.

Transformation is:
-    Systemic
-    Spiritual
-    Unique in each church
-    Difficult
-    Vision-driven
Transformation is not:
-    A cosmetic change
-    An evangelism method
-    One dimensional
-    Quick and easy
-    Easily packaged and transferrable

Some foundational principles of church transformation:
-    Be changed by the renewing of your minds
-    Deepen the spiritual walk of church leaders
-    Have a vision and repeat it over and over again
-    Prayer
-    Spiritual formation
-    Leadership development
-    Empower lay ministry
-    Outreach oriented

I think it’s safe to say that everybody who went to the conference came home with a lot to think about. Some of them will share during worship tomorrow, and all of us who went are meeting for dinner this week to talk about where we go from here.
