Youth

Youth groups meet during the school year for fun, fellowship, and Christian growth. At First Christian Church, getting involved with the youth program is an opportunity to strengthen personal faith and develop friendships with peers in a fun, supportive Christian environment. The program emphasizes practical application of the Christian faith to daily living and commitment to Christian service. Groups are open to all youth who want to participate. Seeking God together, youth and sponsors work as a team to serve others and build a sense of community.

Primary Youth Fellowship (PYF)

PYF is a fellowship group for early elementary youth (kindergarten through second or third grade). They enjoy story time, craft time, dinner and more.

Junior Youth Fellowship (JYF)

JYF is a fellowship group for second graders through fifth graders promoting friendships with peers and learning how to apply God’s teachings. This group sets the foundation for lifelong church participation. JYF provides opportunities for spiritual development, relationship building, and having fun through many fellowship activities and service projects.

Chi Rho

Chi and Rho are the first letters in Cristos – the Greek word for Christ.

Chi Rho is a fellowship group for middle school youth. Chi Rho youth at First Christian Church may participate in many activities, which range from discussions about current issues to crazy games, regional fall and spring retreats, various mission projects, annual summer camps, and lots of fun fellowship events.

Chi Rho is a Youth Group that is specifically for young adults who are in school grades 6 to 8. Chi Rho provides young adults with a spiritual group of people their own age, who can relate to some of the problems and experiences that young adults face on their journey to adulthood. Chi Rho believes in the spirit of community and promotes community involvement and social interaction with the Greensboro community as a whole.

Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF)

CYF is a fellowship group for high school youth. CYF youth at First Christian have many opportunities for experiences that increase their understanding of community, spirituality, and Christian service. These include participation in regional fall and spring retreats, mission projects throughout the year, and plenty of fun fellowship activities. In addition, CYF youth are encouraged to seek a spot on the Regional Council for Youth Work, which helps organize regional youth events.

CYF is a Youth Group that is specifically for young adults who are in grades 9 to 12. CYF provides young adults with a spiritual group of people their own age, who can relate to some of the problems and experiences that young adults face on their journey to adulthood. CYF believes in the spirit of community and promotes community involvement and social interaction with the Greensboro community as a whole.
