Souper Bowl of Caring – Jan 29

‘Lord, as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us to be mindful of those without even a bowl of soup to eat.

More than 20 years ago, the Souper Bowl of Caring began with this simple prayer from a single youth group. Since that day, more than $81 million has been raised for local charities across the country through Souper Bowl of Caring. It has become a powerful movement that is transforming the time around Super Bowl weekend into the nation’s largest celebration of giving and serving.”

The CYF and Chi Rho youth group is serving you a free soup lunch on Sunday, Jan. 29, immediately after the 11:00 service. We hope you will join us! If you feel inclined, we will accept donations of canned goods or cash to be given directly to the Servant Center. By participating in the Souper Bowl of Caring, we get to choose the charity of our choice to receive any donations. We hope you will join us, and we thank you for the continued support you give us.

Thank you,
FCC Youth

Children are welcomed and beloved at First Christian Church. Our professionally staffed nursery offers excellent care for infants and toddlers, while older children participate in Sunday school classes with their age groups. Activity bags are provided for children who wish to stay with their families during worship, and a special reading nook in our education wing offers activities for younger kids. Children and youth regularly serve as worship leaders by reading scriptures or lighting candles, and each service offers a special moment for children.

Join other parents for lots of laughter (and an hour of kid-free time!), as we share the joys and trials of raising kids. This group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00; childcare is provided.

Youth Groups

Youth groups meet on Sunday evenings during the school year for fun, fellowship, and Christian growth. At First Christian Church, getting involved with the youth program is an opportunity to strengthen personal faith and develop friendships with peers in a fun, supportive Christian environment. The program emphasizes practical application of the Christian faith to daily living and commitment to Christian service. Groups are open to all youth who want to participate. Seeking God together, youth and sponsors work as a team to serve others and build a sense of community.

Youth groups generally meet at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday evenings; email admin@fccgreensboro.org for a complete schedule.

Younger Youth: Primary Youth Fellowship (PYF)

PYF is a fellowship group for early elementary youth. They enjoy story time, craft time, dinner and more.

Older Youth: Junior Youth Fellowship (JYF), Chi Rho, and CYF (Christian Youth Fellowship)

Upper elementary, middle school, and high school youth participate in many activities, which range from discussions about current issues to crazy games, regional fall and spring retreats, various mission projects, annual summer camps, and lots of fun fellowship events.
