Twenty-two of us from First Christian are here, joining Disciples from all over the region for this conference. In the car, we were talking about what a great response we’ve had, how exciting it is that so many from the congregation are interested in learning something new. And people from throughout the congregation, too – nearly every Sunday school class is represented, and both worship services, several folks in leadership positions, some who were just interested to see what’s happening.
I think everybody here believes that our church is important, that we are doing good work, that we have good work still to do. I think everybody here is open to some new possibilities, some new ways of being church.
We begin tonight with dinner and then a keynote, followed by worship and some discussion time. I’ll post again later tonight with a little taste of what we’ve learned so far.
