April 8 was a beautiful day to turn 100! The weather was perfect, the sky a gorgeous blue. On our official anniversary date, over 50 of us gathered at First Presbyterian Church, near the site of our congregation’s original location, including several church members who have been around long enough to remember the old Elm Street Christian Church building. We sang, we prayed, we laughed, we remembered. Then, about 25 of us set off to walk to our current location. We had 4- and 5-year-old walkers and walkers in their 80s, and everyone in between (including a dog or two!)
It was a wonderful occasion – thanks to all who helped organize it. Now, we look to June and our big celebration weekend!
